GGR in Span has increased for almost 18%
Spanish gambling regulator has published a report that indicates that revenues of online gambling operators for the second quarter of 2020 are estimated to be €208.85 mn. This is 17.71% higher than the similar period last year.
Right now, Spain has 80 licensed gambling regulators with 46 online casinos and services for accepting online bets on sports events, 9 online poker companies, 3 online bingo organizations and 2 online totes.
In September, revenue of Italian online gambling operators has grown by 25%
According to the report published by Ficom Leisure, increased betting for sports and gambling activities in Italy has led to the rise in regulated online gambling revenue – it reached €184 in September 2020, which is 25.4% more than this time last year.
The largest income is related to such gambling operators: PokerStars with 12.2% market share, Sisal – 8.2% and Lottomatica – 7.9%.
Zelenskyi expects UAH 5 bn of profit from gambling business legalization
According to the announcement of the President, legalization of the gambling business shall bring 5 billion UAH into the country’s budget. He also noticed that Ukraine has many closed casinos that were operating illegally. From now on, operators that have been working in the shadows will bring income to the state.
In 2020, the law legalizing gambling operations has been finally adopted. At the moment, the Chair of the Commission that will regulate the work of operators has been announced. Thus, experts say that this recently updated market may be launched in Ukraine either by the end of this year or in 2021.
