Draft law 2285-d was adopted at the second reading stage

On Tuesday, July 14, the Verkhovna Rada passed the life changing for the Ukrainian gambling draft law 2285-d. Overall, 248 deputies voted in favor of the law, 95 – against, 17 – abstained, and 27 did not participate in voting. 224 voices were given to support the law by members of Servant of the People fraction, 18 – by Trust, 4 – For the Future, and 2 voices were given by unaffiliated deputies.

Kharkiv Palace Hotel plans to open a casino

The management of Kharkiv Palace Hotel announced an intention to open a casino on its territory in the short term. The general manager of the hotel Atis Zaharans noted that they were waiting for the legalization of gambling for more than eight years, and prepared a roadmap in advance to allow them organize gambling activity at Kharkiv Palace Hotel quickly.

The hotel belongs to the businessman Oleksandr Yaroslavsky that invested $126 million in its construction. Kharkiv Palace Hotel is the only five-star hotel in the city.

Problem gamblers are offered free consultations with a psychologist in Georgia

To fight against gambling addiction among young people, a hot line intended to consult with psychologists free of charge was opened in Georgia. It operates based on the Agency for Protection and Assistance to Victims and Persons Affected by Human Trafficking. Calls are accepted on weekdays from 10:00 to 19:00. To get a consultation, one should call 111.

The first cheque lottery in Latvia brought €1.2 million to the budget

The first cheque lottery in Latvia, organized by the State Revenue Service, allowed detecting and preventing tax abuses of 932 entrepreneurs. Based on the results of audits and filing of revised declarations, additional €1 195 731 in taxes were declared. Besides, €21 540 of fines for tax violations refilled the state budget.

The fund of the first cheque lottery in Uzbekistan will make $99 thousand

On July 22, the first draw of cheque lottery prizes organized by the State Tax Committee will take place in Uzbekistan. It will be held in one of the big supermarkets in Tashkent. Draws will be made twice a month, defining 20 winners in each.

The total prize fund of the cheque lottery is $99 thousand (1 billion soms). Prizes will include Chevrolet Nexia 3 cars, TV-sets, washing machines, fridges, gas stoves, irons, and bicycles.
