Ukrainian poker player Bystrovzorov won a bracelet at online WSOP tournament

As LoginCasino online portal reports, the Ukrainian Dmytro “Too Bad” Bystrovzorov has won the WSOP Online №65 NLHE Deepstack Championship.

The online tournament with $600 buy-in took place at GGPokerОК poker room. Participants registered to the event 2911 times. The total prize pool comprised $1.7 million. The game continued for 12 hours 30 minutes. Such well-known poker-players as Felipe Ramos, Bertrand Grospellier, Dario Sammartino competed in the tournament.

The victory in the tournament brought the Ukrainian poker player not only his first WSOP bracelet but also the win of $227,906, as well as WSOP Europe Package.

Overall, this is the eighth WSOP bracelet obtained by Ukrainian poker players.

Ukraine may recognize esports as official sport

The initiative to recognize esports as official sport was proposed by the industry-specific organization – Ukrainian Esports Federation (UESF). It submitted the documents required to consider that issue to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. It was reported on the official website of the organization.

Soon the date for the committee meeting, intended to consider this initiative and to take a decision, will be determined.

The deputy head of UESF Anton Markelov expressed hope that the Federation made enough for the esports to be recognized as a kind of sport at the official, state level.

The number of problem gamblers decreased in Finland

Taloustutkimus marketing company made a research having surveyed 5,000 Finns aged from 15 to 79 years old.

Based on the findings of the social survey, 2.3% of respondents were classified as players suffering from gambling addiction. This figure is 0.5% less than what was revealed by the research conducted in November last year.

26% of the Finns classified as problem gamblers stated that they used services only of the local state operator Veikkaus. 15% of respondents said they placed bets only on online resources of offshore gambling companies.

Portugal received record-high revenue from online gambling in H1

From January to June of 2020, activity of online gambling and betting operators generated €138.9 million in revenue, which is 44.2% more than in the same period of 2019. This figure is record high since 2016, when regulated online betting market was launched in the country. It is said in the report of the Portuguese gambling regulator.

The document specifies that the revenue from sports betting reached €55.2 million and from online casino activity – €83.7 million in the first half of the year.

In the mentioned period, the turnover of online gambling reached €2.53 billion. This is 62.5% more that the figure of the first half of 2019.

President of Brazil signed a decree about privatization of sports betting sector

The President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro signed a decree, according to which sports betting will be included in the Partnership and Investment Program and the National Privatization Plan. This document will allow private betting operators to provide services to local players.

The responsibility for the execution of sports betting privatization is placed on the National Bank for Economic and Social Development. The Ministry of Economy will coordinate and monitor this process.

The Secretariat of Evaluation, Planning, Energy and Lottery will draft the rules to regulate the acceptance of bets.

According to the deputy economy minister of Brazil Waldir Marques Jr., the decree signed by the President is an important step forward in the issue of sports betting regulation.
